What is Happy Science?

Happy Science, based on the universal teachings from Master Ryuho Okawa, was established in Tokyo, Japan in 1986 and is one of the most influential religions in Japan. It is also the fastest growing, as its influence reaches all areas of life and society,such as: politics, medical science, art and culture, education and the media. People from all backgrounds, cultures, professions and faiths, whether Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim or Hindu, have been attracted to our open movement and unique teachings – studying together in unity, harmony and deep-found respect.

The happiness that is taught at our organization is the happiness that continues from this world and through to the next; it is another name for “enlightenment.” Through learning and practicing the Truth, you will be able to deepen your character, build better relationships with others, create a harmonious family, and improve work skills. In the process you will gain much “nourishment for the soul,” which has the power to shine through to your next life as well.

Happy Science aims to resolve the conflicts and overcome differences of race and belief by uniting and integrating all the major religions of the world through the teachings and practice of faith and ‘love that gives’. Members of Happy Science strive everyday to make efforts to practice faith and study the truth as the “Exploration of the Right Mind” and The Fourfold Path of Love, Wisdom, Self-Reflection, and Progress.

At Happy Science, we have a vast collection of books and video lectures to study from. Local and worldwide seminars and events are regularly offered to teach us how to meditate,contemplate, receive inspiration and increase our enlightenment, and have already revolutionized the lives of many.
